NORTHERN PHOTOGRAPHY AND STORYTELLING
In 2019, the Far North Photo Festival happened in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. The festival was different from other photo festivals because it was uniquely Northern and focused on issues of representation, ethical storytelling, and diversity of culture and gender in photography.
The festival featured workshops on Indigenous voices in visual storytelling, mentored Northern-based photographers in promoting their work, and showcased powerful stories from across the Circumpolar North.
The Far North Photo Festival was a success, and it helped to elevate the work of Northern photographers and storytellers. The festival also provided a platform for meaningful conversations about representation and diversity in photography.
I was honoured to get invited Far North Photo Festival 2019 with a selection of my underwater works.
